A friendly general and sport aviation airfield! Located in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York.

A little history about Owasco Airfield.

As the years go by and our country continues to loose small general aviaiton airports to commercial and housing developement, this airport formerly known as Newhart Airport was saved in 2005! Located on fifty three acres of open fields and woodlands, this wonderful old airfield has come alive again as Owasco Airfield.

The old Newhart Airport was constructed in 1968 when the then new county road (Long Hill Road) was constructed. The airport thrived and was a local hang out for pilots and friends until about 1990. The airport was then closed and fell into disrepair.

In 2004 the old Newhart Airport property was for sale. Subdivided and ready to be sold as housing lots. Tom Brelsford, a pilot from Connecticut, heard about the property being for sale. In April of 2005, Mr. Brelsford was successful in pruchasing the property to preserve the airport.

After a year of restoration work, repairing the hangar and reclaiming the open fields and runway, the airport was reborn as Owasco Airfield in the spring of 2006.
